Reading and writing
We would be worse off than we are now, without the good books we have read. We would be less anxious, less obedient, and have less critical thinking, which is the drive for progress, and that would not exist. The same as writing, reading is somewhat a protest against the insufficiencies of life (…). We invent fictions to somehow live the many lives we should live and would like to have; since we only have one.

We believe that we are always right; we have a hard headed trust in our senses. Sight is predominant in humans. Nevertheless, color blind people among the population called “daltonic” see colors different. The picture above is a standard driving test for color blind—Daltonic—people. "Color blind" people cannot see the dotted numbers at all. In this way they are scanned. They confuse the traffic lights and other signals.
